The Turkish Educational Foundation (TEV) is commemorating the unforgettable artist Ferdi Özbeğen, a pioneer of tavern music in Turkey, on the 11th anniversary of his death with his iconic song, Piyanist.
Continuing to keep Özbeğen's memory alive, the institution persists in its call for support for students who lack access to education.
While honoring the memory of Özbeğen—who brought smiles to faces with his answer to the question, "Why the piano and the pianist?"—TEV also aims to touch the educational lives of even more young people.
'HE TOUCHED THE LIVES OF HUNDREDS OF STUDENTS'
Reminding that the beloved artist Ferdi Özbeğen donated all his assets and his famous white piano to the Turkish Educational Foundation before his passing, TEV General Manager Banu Taşkın stated, "Our esteemed donor Ferdi Özbeğen is a name that will never be erased from our memories, with his respected personality in the art world and his invaluable works. Özbeğen, who holds a place in our hearts with the works we all love to listen to, has also touched the lives of hundreds of students to date through his donation to our Foundation.
His white piano continues to be a source of inspiration for many young people interested in music at the Turkish Educational Foundation Inanç Türkeş Private High School (TEVİTÖL) TEV Nevin-Mehmet Bilginer Culture and Arts Center. On the 11th anniversary of his passing, we wanted to commemorate Ferdi Özbeğen with footage of him at his piano and his signature song, Piyanist. We aim to touch the lives of more young people with donations made in memory of our precious donor Özbeğen, who continues to be a light for our students with his support.”
