Two-thousand-year-old statue head seized in Aydın
A 2,000-year-old statue head was seized during an illegal excavation operation in the Nazilli district of Aydın, and 1 person was taken into custody.

The Gendarmerie launched an operation following a tip-off that Ö.D. was conducting an illegal excavation on his own land in the Kestel Neighborhood, Bördelik locality.
During the operation, in which Ö.D. was caught in the act, a statue head was found.
It was stated that the statue head, which was sent to the Aydın Archaeology Museum, is estimated to be 2,000 years old.
