Who was Colin Burgess, who has passed away?

Colin Burgess was born on November 16, 1946, in Sydney, Australia. A rock musician, Burgess played drums for the band The Masters Apprentices between 1968 and 1972. He later served as the original drummer for the hard rock band AC/DC from November 1973 to February 1974.

Having played drums in various bands in the early 1960s, Burgess joined The Masters Apprentices in 1968. The band reached number one on the Australian charts in 1970 with their song "Living in the Seventies."

In 1973, he joined AC/DC as a drummer, replacing Dave Evans, to begin recording the band's first album, "High Voltage." Burgess worked on the band's first two albums, "High Voltage" (1974) and "T.N.T." (1975). However, he left the band in February 1974 due to disagreements with other members.

After leaving AC/DC, Burgess joined the band His Majesty. The group released an album in 1975 but did not achieve success. Burgess later played drums in various bands and projects.

Burgess passed away at the age of 77 in Sydney on December 15, 2023.
