World-renowned comic book artist Paco Roca is coming to Istanbul
Award-winning Spanish illustrator Paco Roca, known for his books 'Wrinkles' and 'The House', is coming to Istanbul on February 27 and 28 to hold a series of events in collaboration with the Instituto Cervantes in Istanbul.

Spanish illustrator Paco Roca, a pioneer among his peers, is the guest of honor at the 'Spanish Comic Book Week' organized by the Instituto Cervantes in Istanbul.
The artist, who has gained recognition for the cinematic richness he brings to the Mediterranean comic book tradition, will participate in a film screening and a talk program as part of the organization.
AN ANIMATED FILM THAT CHALLENGES THE WRINKLES IN OUR MINDS
Wrinkles, the animated film adaptation by Ignacio Ferreras based on Paco Roca's work of the same name, will meet the audience at the Instituto Cervantes in Istanbul on Tuesday evening, February 27, at 19:00.
Wrinkles, which has been deemed worthy of many awards, most notably the Goya Awards, shares joyful moments from the daily lives of a group of elderly people who have to spend the rest of their lives in a nursing home due to Alzheimer's.
At the end of the film screening, which will be presented by Desen Yayınları Editorial Director Ayşegül Utku Günaydın and translator Murat Tanakol, Paco Roca will answer questions from the audience.
Paco Roca will hold a book signing at Minoa Pera on Wednesday, February 28, between 16:00 and 18:00.
WHO IS PACO ROCA?
Born in Valencia in 1969, Paco Roca completed his art education at the Valencia School of Art and Design. Although he seems to have built his career on comic books, he has also worked in the fields of illustration, graphic design, and advertising. He began drawing at Kiss Comix, where his first short comics were published.
He achieved international fame with his books Arrugas (Wrinkles) and Los Surcos del Azar (The House). Roca, whose works have been translated into many languages, has been awarded numerous prizes, including the National Comic Award in 2008 and the Barcelona Comic Fair Award.
The artist, who has also illustrated books by classic authors such as Franz Kafka, creates various poster designs and independent book cover illustrations in addition to preparing his own books.
