Yeşilçam screenwriter Ayşe Şasa's books donated to the Nation's Library

The 'Ayşe Şasa Collection,' which bears traces of the culture and art world with which the author interacted, met with book lovers following a press conference held at the Presidential Nation's Library.

Ayşe Şasa's personal library has been moved to the 'Ayşe Şasa Special Library' at the Presidential Nation's Library. The library's special collection also includes the personal libraries of figures such as Cemil Meriç, Abdülbaki Gölpınarlı, and İlber Ortaylı.

'RESOURCES CONTINUE TO DIVERSIFY'

Birgül Ünal, Reader Services Branch Manager of the library, which added Ayşe Şasa's library to its special collection, stated at the press conference: "In addition to our constantly developing collection, the resources we possess continue to diversify and become more distinct with the inclusion of the private libraries of valuable individuals from both home and abroad.

As the Presidential Nation's Library, we are pleased that the personal library of Ayşe Şasa, one of the important names in the world of Turkish cinema and culture, has been donated to our library. The 3,000 donated books have been processed and have taken their place in the special collection section. We commemorate her with mercy on the tenth anniversary of her passing, as she made valuable contributions to Turkish cinema," she said.

'I AM ONE OF HER CLOSEST WITNESSES'

Ayşe Şasa's heir Adem Taşkıran said the following at the press conference:

"Ayşe Şasa was a person who spent her life reading, contemplating, and sharing the beauties she discovered. I am one of the closest witnesses to this. Although she went through difficult paths while searching for the truth, she reached the shore of the sea of Unity (Vahdet). There is a saying: 'Not everyone who searches finds, but those who find are those who search.' Ms. Ayşe was also among those who 'found'..."
