The promotion of a biographical film about the life of Zeki Müren, the unforgettable icon of Turkish classical music, has been banned following a lawsuit filed by his heirs.

Renowned producer Mustafa Uslu announced last year that he would bring the life of Zeki Müren to the big screen. However, the Turkish Armed Forces Mehmetçik Foundation and the Turkish Education Foundation, to whom Müren bequeathed his estate, opposed the project and initiated legal proceedings.
While the lawsuit was ongoing, Uslu presented the promotional film he had prepared to audiences at various festivals. This situation led the court to ban the screening of the promotional film.
By court order, the flash drive containing the film is being kept in the court's safe for security purposes.
