1,000-villa construction project in Mersin's paradise bay Tisan: Abdurrahman Uzun takes on PR for the project

The massive construction project rising on Tisan Island, considered one of the world's most beautiful bays and a unique natural wonder of Mersin, is dealing a heavy blow to the region's historical and natural fabric. Due to the 1,000-villa construction work approved by the votes of AKP and MHP council members, the ancient city and green areas in the region are being irreversibly destroyed.

Tisan Island, known for its historical ruins and untouched nature, has recently become a target for heavy machinery.

The construction process, which began rapidly following changes to zoning plans, is drawing major backlash from environmentalists and local residents.

Experts state that the thousands-of-years-old ancient city ruins and the unique ecosystem are facing the danger of complete destruction due to this urbanization process.

Project Promotion Entrusted to a Familiar Name

The person conducting the public relations (PR) for the project, which has caused widespread public debate on the grounds that it destroys the historical and natural fabric, has drawn attention.

It has emerged that Abdurrahman Uzun, known for his "Turn on your combi boilers" remark following the natural gas discovery and recognized as one of the ruling party's prominent social media propagandists, has undertaken the promotional activities for the project.
