STATEMENT ISSUED BY THE KAHRAMANMARAŞ GOVERNOR'S OFFICE
Following the reports, the Kahramanmaraş Governor's Office included the following statements in a press release regarding the matter:
“A statement has been deemed necessary regarding the reports that the family of our fellow citizen, Infantry Contracted Private Müslüm Özdemir, who was martyred in a clash with terrorists in the Claw-Lock Operation region, is living in a tent. The posts claiming that our martyr's family is living in a tent do not reflect the truth. In Kahramanmaraş, tents have been completely removed, and our earthquake-survivor citizens have been placed in container cities or provided with personal containers. In this regard, in addition to the tent provided to our family during the initial period of the earthquake, a container was provided upon the family's request to reside on their own land.
Immediately after the news of the martyrdom was delivered to the family, the condolence house, ceremony area, and condolence site located in the neighborhood were designated under the coordination of our Kahramanmaraş Governor's Office by our relevant institutions.
Our state is building TOKİ residences and Permanent Village Houses for all our citizens whose homes were destroyed or heavily damaged in the earthquake. Efforts are continuing intensively to deliver these residences to our earthquake-survivor citizens. Our martyr's family also resides in our rural neighborhood and is a beneficiary. A Permanent Village House will be built and delivered for the family in a short time. Please do not give credence to baseless posts intended to create a false perception.”
