Social media influencers Özlem Altınok Öz and her husband Tayyar Taylan Öz have once again become a subject of public debate due to posts showcasing their luxurious lifestyle. A video shared by the couple, which brought a furniture contract worth 10 million TL to the agenda, has sparked social backlash. Özlem Öz's declaration of a 100,000 TL monthly income has reignited discussions on social media regarding the "income-expenditure imbalance" following this ostentatious post.

The high-value furniture contract alleged in the video also raised questions among followers such as "is it real or a joke?" The criticism was directed at the couple's previous involvement in a money laundering case and their lavish spending.

THE ONGOING CASE AGAINST THE INFLUENCERS

The trial concerning the Öz couple and their business partners, who were previously investigated on charges of "concealing the illicit source of assets," continues at the Istanbul Anatolian 2nd Criminal Court of First Instance. In addition to Özlem Öz and Tayyar Öz, company partner İbrahim Karaorhanlı is also being tried in the case.

In the most recent hearing held recently, while İbrahim Karaorhanlı and his lawyers were present, Özlem Öz and Tayyar Öz did not attend. The court panel lifted the travel ban imposed on them while maintaining other judicial control measures. The case was adjourned to June 4.

FURNITURE DEAL DRAWS REACTION

Regarding the 10 million TL furniture contract claim circulating on social media, Özlem Öz made the following statement: "I was going to give away my old furniture, but right now I don't have a bed to sleep in. A famous brand became a sponsor. They brought 4 beds. The 10 million TL furniture contract was completely a joke. Of course, there is no such amount. A company from Bursa offered a sponsorship, and I will buy the products at a good price. I will also choose my garden furniture from sponsors."

Following the news reports, Özlem Öz denied the claims in the video she recorded herself, saying, "We immediately ended up in some gossip columns, 'no way, 10 million dollars for what you signed today'."

Her husband, Tayyar Öz, reacted to the situation by saying, "You never learn. Even if it's your own house, spending 10 million is a great sin."

This widely discussed post by the couple has led to the issue of how luxury spending aligns with income being brought back to the agenda. It is known that the Öz couple has previously drawn public criticism due to their high rent payments and luxurious lifestyles.

The process reflected in the public eye has increased the judicial and social media pressure on the Öz couple, and the course of the case will be re-evaluated at the hearing on June 4.
