11 more individuals had been detained: New development in the Ahbap investigation where 14 people were arrested

11 suspects, including Çiğdem Acil and Ceyda Köse, who were detained as part of the second wave of the investigation into the Ahbap Association, have been referred to the courthouse. Following their processing, the suspects were taken to the Istanbul Courthouse in Çağlayan.

The investigation is being conducted based on allegations that "donations collected on behalf of the Ahbap Association were transferred to the suspects' personal accounts." Previously, arrest warrants had been issued for 14 suspects in the case.

The criminal judgeship of peace had ordered the arrest of Haluk Levent, Ece Güner, İlker Çetin, Nurdan Eriş, Yusuf Can Ertit, Kemal Ötünç, Şehmuz Baştuğ, Abdülcevat Özkan, Emrah Gödeliner, Erhan Dökmeci, Halil Bostancı, Mehmet Ulu, Yeliz Kaya, and Zafer Yay.

HOW DID THE INVESTIGATION BEGIN?

In the operation coordinated by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, teams from the Istanbul Police Department's Financial Crimes Investigation Branch processed the case regarding charges of "establishing an organization for the purpose of committing crimes," "qualified fraud," and "laundering assets derived from crime."

Within the scope of the investigation, MASAK reports, account activities, and technical and physical surveillance records regarding Ahbap Association employees were examined. The examinations alleged that some suspects had high-value money movements inconsistent with their financial profiles, that large-amount transfers were made between them, that money was transferred to gambling accounts, and that chain title deed transfers were carried out in a short period.

In the operation conducted on July 12, 17 suspects, including the association's founder, artist Haluk Levent, were detained; 9 more people were apprehended in subsequent efforts. While one suspect was released after police processing, 25 people were referred to the courthouse.

As part of the second wave, simultaneous operations were carried out in Istanbul, İzmir, Kocaeli, and Muğla by teams from the Istanbul Provincial Gendarmerie Command's Anti-Smuggling and Organized Crime Branch. 17 suspects were detained in the operation; 11 of them were referred to the courthouse.
