Eight years have passed since the July 15 coup attempt. The coup attempt, backed by the Fethullahist Terrorist Organization (FETÖ) structure, began on July 15, 2016, when some military units belonging to the Turkish Armed Forces (TSK) blocked traffic on the Bosphorus Bridge in Istanbul around 22:00, and fighter jets conducted low-altitude flights in Ankara. The Parliament, the Ankara Police Department, the Special Operations Department, TÜRKSAT, and the Presidential Complex were bombed by coup-plotting soldiers. Approximately 9,000 soldiers, 35 aircraft, 37 helicopters, 246 armored vehicles including 74 tanks, and nearly 4,000 light weapons were used in the coup attempt.

Eight years have passed since the FETÖ coup attempt on July 15, 2016. So, what kind of change has occurred in these 8 years, especially within the TSK? 12punto has opened its archives and documented the transformation in the TSK after the coup attempt.

Looking at the SADAT structure, which played a critical role in the transformation within the Turkish Armed Forces, reveals the change in the TSK during this process very clearly.

SADAT (International Defense Consulting Construction Industry and Trade Inc.), founded by soldiers dismissed from the TSK due to "reactionary activities"...

Retired Brigadier General Adnan Tanrıverdi, who was sidelined in the TSK in 1996 due to reactionary activities and subsequently retired, had served as Chief Advisor to President Tayyip Erdoğan.

HE HAD SAID "THE MAHDI WILL COME"

In a speech he gave at the congress of the Association of Justice Defenders Strategic Studies Center (ASSAM), of which he was the Chairman of the Board, he drew backlash with the words, "The Mahdi will come, we must prepare the environment for this." Following the "Mahdi" statement, Adnan Tanrıverdi, who was a Chief Advisor to the President and a member of the Presidential Security and Foreign Policy Board, resigned from his positions.

SADAT'S TSK PROPOSALS IMPLEMENTED AFTER JULY 15

The Association of Justice Defenders Strategic Studies Center (ASSAM), chaired by Adnan Tanrıverdi, supported the removal of the "reactionary" provision from the entry requirements for Military Academies, arguing that this would prevent FETÖ and similar organizations from organizing within the TSK.

In a statement by ASSAM, which is known for its closeness to SADAT, it was stated: "The claim that this change will provide an opportunity for some segments to take over the TSK, as alleged, is completely untrue. If the regulation article associated with reactionism had prevented such situations as claimed, this nation would not have experienced the July 15 coup attempt."

Adnan Tanrıverdi explained in a video how all the proposals they brought forward after July 15 were implemented:

"Almost all of our findings regarding the restructuring of the Armed Forces in the constitutional proposal we presented were incorporated into the congress after July 15. At that time, we said that all Military Academies and Military Schools should be connected to the Ministry of National Defense, and they were. We said the Gendarmerie General Command should be connected to the Ministry of Interior instead of the General Staff, and it was. We said the structure of the Supreme Military Council should change, and that the Military High Judiciary should be abolished, and that also happened. We said the presidential system should come, and it did. Almost all of these proposals of ours were realized in the restructuring after July 15."

ADVOCATED FOR A PROVINCIAL SYSTEM

What is in the archives of SADAT, which was founded by retired soldiers and provides "Unconventional Warfare" training?

Adnan Tanrıverdi had said, "A provincial system should be introduced," in the reports of ASDER and ASSAM, where he was also an executive.

The striking statements made by Tanrıverdi in his presentation of the "ASDER-ASSAM report at the stage reached by the solution process" in January 2015 are as follows:

"A provincial system should be introduced. The provincial organization of the Republic of Turkey and the administrative structure of the state should be reorganized. This system should be created in a way that will both cover the autonomy demands of Kurds and other ethnic groups and increase the sense of loyalty and belonging to the state. Each ministry can properly direct and manage at most 6 or 10 units under its control. 81 provinces cannot be managed with determination from the center."

SAID "SECULARISM SHOULD BE REMOVED" ON A FETÖ CHANNEL

Adnan Tanrıverdi, who also assumed the presidency of the Association of Justice Defenders (ASDER), founded by 7 soldiers dismissed from the army by Supreme Military Council (YAŞ) decisions in 2004, made statements to STV, a closed FETÖ media outlet, regarding the constitutional proposal prepared by ASDER and submitted to Parliament.

Tanrıverdi had stated, "The official ideology should not be in the Constitution, the principle of secularism should not be in the Constitution, because these are issues that have always been used as pressure on people of faith."

OPPOSITION TO THE ISTANBUL CONVENTION

SADAT members, who supported the "The Istanbul Convention Kills" campaign, published a statement of support following the decision to withdraw from the convention. The statement included the words, "We say a peaceful and strong family means a strong Turkey."

SADAT POINTED TO 2023

SADAT also had a 2023 plan. The details of SADAT's 2023 election plan were explained by Melih Tanrıverdi, the son of SADAT founder retired Brigadier General Adnan Tanrıverdi and the current President of SADAT, in an article he wrote after the June 24, 2018 elections.

In his article titled "Turkey Made Its Choice," published on June 25, 2018, on the website of the Association of Justice Defenders Strategic Studies Center (ASSAM), which is SADAT's think tank, Melih Tanrıverdi stated that Turkey's goal on the road to the 2023 elections was the "ASRIKA" project.

Asking "What Will Happen in the 2018–2023 Period?", Melih Tanrıverdi made the following assessment:

"1- It will be promoted from being the hope of salvation for the Muslim geography, i.e., the silent majority, which is kept under tutelage in world politics, to being its Natural Leader.

2- It will change the balances in the United Nations Organization.

3- It will take the first steps of the Union of Islamic Countries.

4- Acting on the fact that an environment of peace and tranquility is the right of all humanity, it will support states that are destabilized by being placed under tutelage in the ASRIKA (Asia–Africa) region and will be the nightmare of the states that were called Superpowers yesterday."

WHAT IS THIS ASRIKA PROJECT

In his evaluations after the June 24 elections, SADAT President Melih Tanrıverdi was suggesting that they would bring the ASRIKA project to the forefront on the road to the 2023 elections and that the AKP government would also focus on the ASRIKA project.

So, what is this ASRIKA project?

Adnan Tanrıverdi, the father of SADAT President Melih Tanrıverdi and the founder of SADAT, explained the ASRIKA project in his book "From February 28 to July 15" by stating that Muslim countries, 28 of which are in Asia and 28 in Africa, should form an alliance:

"Of the 60 states with a Muslim majority population, 28 are located in Asia, 28 in Africa, and 4 in Europe. The Eurasian and North Atlantic alliance has not brought peace and tranquility to the Islamic geography, but has become the main cause of conflicts, clashes, and civil wars. For this reason, it has become a necessity for the Islamic world to enter into a new alliance on the 'ASRIKA' axis of the Asia-Africa geography."

Since 2017, ASSAM has been organizing "ASRIKA International ASSAM Islamic Union Congresses" every year. In these congresses, draft constitutions are produced and the basic goals of ASRIKA are determined.

CAPITAL: ISTANBUL, LANGUAGE: ARABIC, LAW: SHARIA

The ASRIKA meetings were described as follows in the book "Shadow Army - The Secret Veil of SADAT is Being Lifted" written by journalists Caner Taşpınar and Ersin Eroğlu:

The First ASRIKA Congress was held in Istanbul on November 23-24, 2017, under the title "Forms of Governance from Past to Future." At the end of the congress, a draft constitution was written. With the "Constitution of the Confederation of Islamic Countries," prepared in Turkish, Arabic, and English, consisting of 63 pages and 181 articles, it was proposed to establish an "Islamic States Union" with a separate form of government, military power, judiciary, capital, flag, and language.

According to Article 6 of this constitution, the official language of the ASRIKA Islamic States Union was determined as Arabic, its flag as a white crescent and stars equal to the number of national states on a red-green background, and its capital as Istanbul/Turkey. In Article 7, it was stated that the union to be established would be governed by Sharia with the words, "The basic purpose of the ASRIKA Islamic States Union is to make Islamic Sharia and creed dominant..."

COMMON CURRENCY: ASRIKA DINAR

The Second ASRIKA Congress was held in Istanbul on November 1-2 under the title "Islamic Economy and Economic Systems."

At the end of this congress, decisions were also made regarding the economy of the countries involved in the ASRIKA project. Some of these decisions are as follows:

-Establishment of a customs union among Islamic countries, establishment of a common market, adoption of a monetary union, establishment of trade zones among union members,

-Giving the Zakat institution an institutional identity under the control of states as a common fund,

-Establishment of a chamber of commerce and trade courts affiliated with the union,

-Creation of an Islamic electronic dinar currency (ASRIKA Dinar)...
