130 million lira stolen: The Bulgaria detail in the Sarıyer mansion robbery

A private security guard working at the construction company located in the Memduh Paşa Mansion in Sarıyer committed a robbery with his accomplices. The robbers broke the locks on the safes in the mansion, stole approximately 130 million TL in foreign currency, loaded it into the back of a pickup truck, and fled.

10 PEOPLE DETAINED

While 10 suspects named M.Ş., Y.B., A.A., B.Ç., A.K., S.Ç., B.K., R.K., D.Y., and M.K. have been detained so far in operations conducted in Istanbul and Edirne regarding the 130 million lira robbery involving foreign currency and jewelry, 2 fugitive suspects, security guard Ahmet Yıldız and Serdar Canpolat, who let the other robbers into the mansion during the incident and neutralized the alarm system, are being sought everywhere.

As police work continues regarding the movie-like robbery, new details have emerged. The police first tracked the vehicle used in the robbery, which was carried out by individuals let inside by a security guard employed by the company.

THE VEHICLE USED IN THE ROBBERY CAME FROM BULGARIA

Police teams, who scrutinized dozens of security camera recordings for hours, examined the routes the robbers took to reach the scene and their subsequent escape paths one by one, and then tracked the foreign-plated vehicle. Investigations revealed that the vehicle used by the mansion robbers was brought into Turkey from Bulgaria on May 2 by B.K., A.C.K., S.Ç., and G.M. The vehicle, which was determined to have been used with 4 different fake license plates on the night of the incident, was uncovered by the police.

It is alleged that 5 of the 10 suspects in custody were the primary perpetrators of the incident. It was determined that the robbery plan was carried out by 5 people, including the security guard. According to the plan, the security guard let the other robbers into the mansion, and they cracked the 5 safes inside. The robbers, who took the 4.5 million dollars found in the safes, disappeared in the Bulgarian-plated car after the incident.

THEY ABANDONED THE VEHICLE IN PENDİK

While the suspects aimed to evade police pursuit by attaching 4 different fake license plates to the car while fleeing, the police identified the identities of the 4 suspects who directly participated in the robbery from security camera footage. The vehicle was found abandoned in Pendik. It was determined that one of the perpetrators, A.A., was caught and detained at his own auto body shop in the same district. During the search of the workplace, 692 thousand dollars, 200 thousand euros, 20 thousand lira, 900 grams of jewelry, a magnetic drill used for opening safes, fake license plates, drugs, a cryptocurrency cold wallet, and 3 mobile phones were seized.

B.Ç., one of the suspects, was caught while hiding in his home in Fatih. When caught, 4,400 dollars, a ring, and 9,000 TL were found on him. Y.B., who remained loyal to the plan and fled but could not escape the police for long, was detained in Bahçelievler; nothing was found on him when he was caught. B.K. and A.C.K., two of the suspects who managed to flee out of the province, were detained in an operation in Edirne. It was learned that S.Ç. and G.M., who played a role in bringing the vehicle used for the escape into Turkey after the robbery, were the individuals who brought the car to the Istanbul provincial borders.

In the aforementioned operations, 692 thousand 200 dollars, 200 thousand euros, 20 thousand TL, 900 grams of jewelry, the fake license plates used in the incident, a drill, a cold wallet used for cryptocurrencies, and 3 mobile phones were taken for examination.

It was stated that each of the suspects, whose police interrogations are ongoing, has an extensive criminal record.
