14 arrested in 'information leak' investigation into the Casperlar gang! 4 people released

New findings have been reached in the investigation into the Casperlar criminal organization, led by İsmail Atız, which was determined to be operating in the Bahçelievler, Küçükçekmece, and Bağcılar districts of Istanbul. The organization was found to be involved in numerous crimes, including robbery, intentional injury, threats, drug trafficking, prostitution, and deprivation of liberty.

DETERMINED THAT INFORMATION WAS LEAKED BY PUBLIC OFFICIALS

During the investigation process, it was revealed that some public officials were in a relationship of interest with the criminal organization and were providing information to organization members regarding judicial and administrative inquiries. It was determined that the organization had criminal and wanted records checked through civil servants working in courthouses and various public institutions.

18 SUSPECTS DETAINED

In line with the evidence obtained, teams from the Istanbul Police Department took action. Detention warrants were issued for a total of 17 suspects, including 9 police officers, 1 court clerk, 1 customs enforcement officer, and 1 former police officer who had left the service. With the apprehension of 1 more person during the ongoing operations, the number of detainees rose to 18.

14 PEOPLE ARRESTED, 4 SUSPECTS RELEASED

Following their processing at the police station, the suspects were referred to the Bakırköy Courthouse. After their statements to the prosecutor's office, 17 suspects were referred to the duty magistrate judge with a request for arrest, and 1 suspect with a request for judicial control. As a result of the evaluation made by the judgeship, 14 suspects were arrested and sent to prison, while 4 people were released on the condition of a travel ban.
