The armed terrorist attack at the concert hall in the Crocus City Hall building in Moscow, the capital of Russia, has caused a major stir in the world press.

Cumhuriyet columnist Faik Erdemli, in his article today titled "We could have been at Crocus too," stated, "We were with famous actor Burak Özçivit at Crocus City Hall on February 20."

Stating that he spoke with Özçivit after the attack, Erdemli said the following:

"7 THOUSAND 300 PEOPLE FILLED THE HALL WITH ÖZÇİVİT"

"Burak Özçivit met with his Russian fans at this place, which became a grave for 143 innocent people.

Crocus City Hall is Moscow's largest performance center.

7 thousand 300 people filled this hall that day to be with Burak Özçivit.

While waiting backstage with Burak Özçivit, I would go out from time to time to check the situation in the hall.

Guests coming to Crocus City Hall were subjected to security checks at the entrance and before being admitted to the hall.

When the doors opened, there were security personnel at every point inside the hall.

"HE WAS VERY SAD"

As soon as we learned about the incident, we spoke with Burak Özçivit.

Burak Özçivit remained on stage in that hall for 3 hours.

After his talk, he took photos with his fans and chatted.

Burak Özçivit was very sad when he spoke to me after the attack. The killing of innocent people had affected him deeply.

What happened shook us even more because we had been there a short time ago.

The hall where Burak Özçivit met his Russian fans had been razed to the ground.

The attack took place on Friday evening, March 22.

There was strict security control inside.

That day, there was a concert by the rock band called Picnic on stage. 6 thousand 200 tickets had been sold.

The terrorists carried out the attack minutes before the concert began.

Members of the Picnic band escaped the attack unharmed.

"WE UNDERSTOOD ONCE AGAIN THAT HUMAN LIFE HANGS BY A THREAD"

But the terrorists who entered Crocus City Hall first entered by killing the security forces standing at the door. Then they closed the main door so that no one could get out.

143 people lost their lives, the hall was set on fire, and the massacre deeply affected all people with a conscience.

After the attack, world states stood by Russia and condemned the attack.

A period of mourning was declared in Russia. All sports activities, entertainment programs, and concerts were postponed.

People are leaving flowers and toys and saying prayers in front of Crocus City Hall, where the incident took place, and in front of monuments in other cities of Russia.

The mourning announcement dated 22.03.2024 and images of candles were reflected on all electronic billboards across the country.

Burak Özçivit, who was on that stage that day, and I, who watched the concert and the talk, understood once again by experiencing it that human life hangs by a thread.

Condolences to the whole world."
