155 billion lira money network uncovered: Trustee appointed to IQ Money

The Savings Deposit Insurance Fund (TMSF) has been appointed as a trustee to IQ Money Ödeme Hizmetleri ve Elektronik Para A.Ş., which was named in an investigation into illegal betting and money laundering; the 155 billion TL transaction volume and detention warrants issued for 28 suspects have drawn attention.

It has been reported that comprehensive findings have been reached in the investigation conducted by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office into illegal betting and money laundering activities.

It is alleged that IQ Money Ödeme Hizmetleri ve Elektronik Para A.Ş., which is at the center of the investigation, systematically acted as an intermediary for criminal organizations through high-volume money transfers.

MASAK REPORTS REVEAL 155 BILLION TL IN TRANSACTIONS

According to reports prepared by the Financial Crimes Investigation Board (MASAK), a total of 155 billion TL in transactions were carried out through the company.

It was stated that a significant portion of the transactions included descriptions such as "bet," "betting," and "gambling." The report indicated that 78 billion TL of this amount is assessed to consist of proceeds from crime.

OPERATING LICENSE REVOKED BUT TRANSFERS CONTINUED

Despite the Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey revoking the company's operating license, it was determined that IQ Money continued its money transfers in secret. It was stated that company executives conducted transactions through personal accounts and obstructed control mechanisms by withholding information during audit processes.

DETENTION WARRANTS FOR SUSPECTS

According to information provided by Ekol TV reporter Dilek Yaman Demir, detention warrants were issued for 28 people within the scope of the investigation. It was announced that the suspects' digital data systems, financial records, and assets have been seized.

TMSF APPOINTED AS TRUSTEE TO MANAGEMENT

It was reported that a red notice process has been initiated for a company executive who is said to be a fugitive in the investigation. It was stated that the company's management has been taken over by a trustee appointed by the Savings Deposit Insurance Fund (TMSF).
