16 TİP students arrested for protesting child deaths
16 out of 17 Workers' Party of Turkey (TİP) youth members who protested child deaths in vocational training centers (MESEM) have been arrested by the Bakırköy Criminal Court of Peace.

The Workers' Party of Turkey (TİP) reported that 17 TİP members were arrested following a protest at the Turkey Century Vocational and Technical Education Summit, which was attended by Minister of National Education Yusuf Tekin. 17 TİP members were destudent'sdetention had been announced.
TİP, for thedetention of the youthmembers, demanded their release and the abolition of the Vocational Training Centers (MESEM) program.

In a statement regarding the decision, the TİP issuedWorkers' Party of Turkey stated, "Those who condemn millions of children in the country tohunger,and wholeaveyoung people without a future,arethethose who drag them, those who send high school students to their deaths in MESEMs;the crimescommittedby covering upby arresting 16 TİP youth membersare mistaken if they think they can.
