The youth, who was detained in Istanbul on July 8, was referred to the prosecutor's office after police procedures were completed.

According to ANKA's report, following the prosecutor's interrogation, the youth was brought before the Gaziosmanpaşa 1st Criminal Judgeship of Peace on charges of "insulting the President" and "publicly inciting hatred and hostility."

Through their lawyers, the youth stated that arrest was a severe measure and requested to be released, or at least released under judicial control conditions.

However, the court issued an arrest warrant, citing the existence of strong suspicion of the crimes, the fact that evidence had not yet been collected, and the reasoning that judicial control would be insufficient.
