17 people had been detained: New arrests in Kuşadası Municipality investigation

In the investigation conducted by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office into the Kuşadası Municipality, 14 of the 17 people detained were arrested, while 3 were released.

Simultaneous operations were carried out in İzmir, Aydın, and Antalya as part of an investigation conducted by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office into the Kuşadası Municipality, which is examining allegations of "bribery" and "extortion."

Within the scope of the investigation, 15 of the suspects for whom detention warrants had been issued were apprehended, and efforts continued to capture 7 fugitives. A total of 17 suspects detained during the operation were sent to the courthouse after their procedures were completed.

14 of the suspects were arrested by the Criminal Court of Peace to which they were referred. It was decided to impose judicial control measures on 3 suspects.

14 PEOPLE ARRESTED

Among those arrested was Şebnem Kars Şenol, the Private Secretary of the Kuşadası Municipality. Şenol was arrested on charges of "bribery" and "being a member of an organization for the purpose of committing a crime."

Cooperative Board Member Kağan Özcan was arrested on charges of "bribery," while Technician Atıl Ulaş Bengi was arrested on charges of "bribery" and "being a member of an organization for the purpose of committing a crime."

Eviz Yapı owner Şakir Eviz and construction company owner Yusuf Yazıcı were also faced with charges of "bribery" and "being a member of an organization for the purpose of committing a crime."

Kuşadası Municipal Council member from the CHP, Ali Kotan, architect Cumhur Ulusoy, Survey Engineer Hasan Hüseyin Demirkol, Accountant Ertan Sözmener, and municipal employee Ercüment Duman were also among those arrested on the same two charges.

TNR Hotel owner Hakan Tanır was arrested on charges of "bribery," while Kartem Yapı owner Emrah Temel, construction company owner Resul Mert Çiftçi, and construction company owner Oğuz Ali Helvacı were also arrested on charges of "bribery."
