19-year-old's New Year's dream turns into a nightmare: He lost 100 thousand liras

In Trabzon, a 19-year-old's dream of spending New Year's Eve with an escort he met online turned into a nightmare.

The young man lost 100 thousand liras to fraudulent escorts.

According to the information received, 19-year-old M.T. clicked on an escort advertisement he saw online for New Year's Eve and contacted the woman in the ad.

The woman, who demanded 100 thousand liras from M.T. to meet with him and asked him to transfer the money to the account number she provided, stopped answering M.T.'s calls and turned off her phone after the money was deposited into her account.

Unable to reach the escort despite all his efforts, the young man applied to the police and filed a complaint, stating that he had been defrauded.

The Trabzon Police Department's Cybercrime Combat teams have launched an investigation into the incident.
