196,434 babies born in the earthquake zone
The Subcommittee on Children's Rights, established under the Grand National Assembly of Turkey (TBMM) Human Rights Investigation Commission, held a meeting where the Ministry of Health presented a report titled "The Situation of Earthquake-Victim Children and Works Carried Out in Earthquake-Affected Provinces." It was announced that 196,434 babies have been born since the February 6 earthquakes.

Following the Kahramanmaraş-centered earthquakes, 196,434 babies were born, becoming symbols of hope and new life.
During a meeting of the Subcommittee on Children's Rights, formed under the Grand National Assembly of Turkey (TBMM) Human Rights Investigation Commission, the Ministry of Health delivered a presentation titled "The Situation of Earthquake-Victim Children and Works Carried Out in Earthquake-Affected Provinces."
According to the presentation regarding the provinces affected by the February 6 Kahramanmaraş-centered earthquakes, the bed capacity in hospitals in the earthquake zone was increased to 21,817, and the number of personnel working in health facilities reached 150,108.
Since the earthquake, the number of follow-up patients receiving home healthcare services has reached 191,854, while home healthcare services were provided to earthquake survivors in 51 provinces outside the disaster zones, with 15,499 earthquake survivors receiving support within this scope.
65 children who suffered physical trauma as a result of the earthquakes underwent amputations, and their prosthetic fitting and rehabilitation processes have been completed. The psychological rehabilitation processes for the children who experienced limb loss are ongoing.
Within the scope of infant, child, and adolescent protocols, 2 million 673 thousand 484 infants and children were monitored in Adana, Adıyaman, Diyarbakır, Gaziantep, Hatay, Kahramanmaraş, Kilis, Malatya, Osmaniye, and Şanlıurfa.
The number of babies born in the earthquake zone between February 6 and December 8 is as follows:

- Adıyaman: 5,612
- Diyarbakır: 28,763
- Gaziantep: 41,513
- Hatay: 15,865
- Kahramanmaraş: 11,468
- Kilis: 3,027
- Malatya: 5,583
- Osmaniye: 7,398
- Şanlıurfa: 47,594
While psychosocial support was provided to 139,247 people in primary healthcare services in the earthquake zone, 87 child and adolescent mental health specialists were assigned to secondary and tertiary mental health services. In this context, 16,050 children diagnosed with trauma and anxiety were treated, and a Special Needs Report for Children was issued for 2,306 children.
