2.5 tons of horse meat seized in the capital of kebab! 4 horses saved from slaughter at the last minute

Scandals involving horse and donkey meat continue in Adana, the capital of kebab. Once again, in the Bahçelievler neighborhood of the central Yüreğir district, teams from the Adana Police Department Intelligence Branch determined that horse slaughter was being carried out under the residence of Adem T. (48) and his son Yusuf Can T. Police conducted a shock raid on the address to apprehend the suspects, who were alleged to be putting the meat on the market. During the search, approximately 2 tons and 500 kilograms of horse meat, which had been slaughtered and separated from their heads, were seized.

Yusuf Can T., who declared himself the owner of the meat, along with Anıl Ahmet A. (20) and his brother Ramazan A. (17), who were determined to have participated in the slaughter, were detained. It was reported that efforts are ongoing to apprehend Vedat K. (19) and Adem T. (17), who are considered to have connections to the incident. It was learned that the homeowner, father Adem T., was not at the address at the time of the incident.

4 HORSES, INCLUDING 2 FOALS, SEIZED

In the garden of the residence, 4 horses, including 2 foals, were found. It was learned that the horses were taken over by teams from the relevant institutions to be transported to an animal shelter. Following the collection of samples by the Provincial Directorate of Agriculture, the meat was handed over to the municipal police for destruction.

The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
