2 lawyers and 1 police officer arrested! Drug swap at the police station!
In Istanbul, a month ago, Onur Ö., who was alleged to be involved in drug trafficking, was caught with a bag containing 500 grams of narcotics. As part of the investigation, Onur Ö. and his friend Bayram K. were arrested. However, a subsequent allegation led to the launch of a new investigation. According to the claim, the narcotics in the bag seized from the detained suspects were replaced at the police station by a police officer and lawyers with a bag full of spices in exchange for a bribe. 2 lawyers and one police officer have been arrested.

In Istanbul's Esenyurt district, teams that launched an investigation into drug trafficking on December 19 last year detained Onur Ö. and his friend Bayram K. with 500 grams of narcotics in their possession. The detained suspects were taken to the police station along with the seized drugs. Following the procedures, Onur Ö. and Bayram K. were arrested by the court and sent to prison.
SHOCKING ALLEGATION
Following these events, a secret witness who applied to the Büyükçekmece Chief Public Prosecutor's Office made shocking allegations. In their statement, the secret witness claimed that the police replaced the narcotics found on the arrested Onur Ö. with another bag containing spices in exchange for 600 thousand liras. They also alleged that two lawyers assisted in this incident.
SECURITY CAMERA FOOTAGE REVIEWED
Following this, security camera footage from the day of the incident was examined. In the footage, it was seen that a lawyer named H.Ö. was constantly entering and exiting the police station on the day of the incident. It was determined that at around 03:00, the lawyer entered the reception room where the evidence was kept, with their jacket zipped up and carrying bags from a car parked outside, and later left the room with the jacket unzipped, again carrying bags, before returning to the car. It was learned that according to the footage, the lawyers were not seen participating in the statements.
PLACED THE EVIDENCE BAG IN THEIR OWN LOCKER
Subsequently, it was observed that the police officer named S.Y., who was the duty officer (taking statements) at the station, placed the bag, which was alleged to be the evidence, into a locker under their own use at 03:06.
SWAPPED THE BAG FULL OF DRUGS WITH A BAG FULL OF SPICES
Five days after the incident, it was understood that the police officer S.Y. sent the bag, which was alleged to have been swapped, to the Criminal Police Laboratory, and as a result of the examination, it was determined that the substance in the bag was not narcotics. It was reported that no criminal elements were found during the searches conducted at the homes of police officer S.Y. and lawyer H.Ö. Their phones were taken for examination.
POLICE OFFICER CONFESSED
Suspect police officer S.Y. and lawyer H.Ö. were detained on January 10, 2024. S.Y. confessed to what had been done in the presence of their lawyer.
TWO LAWYERS AND ONE POLICE OFFICER ARRESTED
S.Y. stated that what happened in the camera footage was true and that the 3rd person not seen was lawyer H.İ.P. Upon this, under the instructions of the Büyükçekmece Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, lawyer H.İ.P. was also detained on January 11. The 3 suspects, police officer S.Y. and lawyers H.Ö. and H.İ.P., were arrested by the court they were brought before.
POLICE STATION CHIEF REPORTED IT
It was learned that when narcotics police arrived at the station and stated that the seized substances were not drugs, the chief who came to the station in the morning watched the footage, then informed the district police chief and notified the Public Security Branch Directorate's Robbery Bureau teams.
