2 terrorists neutralized in Mardin: Yerlikaya shares footage of the operation

Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya announced that 2 terrorists were neutralized during the Bozdoğan-50 operation carried out in the rural area of Dargeçit, Mardin.

The Gendarmerie and Police conducted the Bozdoğan-50 operation in the rural area of Dargeçit, Mardin.

Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya announced that 2 terrorists were neutralized as a result of the operation.

Yerlikaya stated that one of the terrorists was Taner Öğmen, codenamed Herekol, who was added to the Interior Ministry's wanted list in the red category in August 2024, and that identification efforts for the other terrorist are ongoing.

Yerlikaya's statement is as follows:

"It has been determined that the terrorist named Taner Öğmen, codenamed Herekol;

Joined the terrorist organization from the Metina area in 2009, 

Operated as a regional commander in the so-called Hakurk area of Northern Iraq, and during this period, gave instructions for and participated in many actions against Turkish Armed Forces (TSK) units, and also operated in the so-called Botan region during a period,

Engaged in YPS activities in Diyarbakır province in 2016 and took part in urban actions,

Operated at a responsible level in the Ayn al-Arab region of Syria between 2016-2018, and gave instructions for actions against border units located on the Hatay and Kilis border line,

Operated at a responsible level in the so-called Hakurk region of Northern Iraq in 2018,

Served as a front commander in the so-called Ş.Rojat region of Northern Iraq in 2020."
