2025 meal fees for civil servants announced

The "Communiqué on the Implementation of the Regulation on Food Assistance for Civil Servants," prepared by the Ministry of Treasury and Finance, has been published in the Official Gazette and announced to the public.

The communiqué determines the minimum meal fees to be paid by civil servants and contract personnel who will benefit from lunch services throughout 2025.

MEAL EXPENSES WILL BE COVERED BY INSTITUTIONAL BUDGETS

According to the communiqué, expenses for food assistance will be covered by institutional budgets in a way that does not exceed two-thirds of the meal costs in Ankara, Istanbul, and Izmir, and half in other provinces. The remaining amount will be paid by the personnel.

MEAL FEES WILL BE VALID STARTING JANUARY 15

The daily lunch fees determined for 2025 vary according to the additional indicators of the civil servants:

• Additional indicator of 600 and below: 10.25 TL
• Additional indicator of 1700 and below: 17.42 TL
• Additional indicator of 2800 and below: 21.64 TL
• Additional indicator of 4200 and below: 28.04 TL
• Additional indicator of 5400 and below: 37.34 TL
• Additional indicator above 5400: 41.80 TL

The daily meal fee to be paid by contract personnel is determined according to their gross salaries:

• Those earning a salary of 26,480 TL and below: 12.47 TL
• Those earning a salary of 44,700 TL and below: 21.64 TL
• Those earning a salary of 61,750 TL and below: 39.27 TL
• Those earning a salary above 61,750 TL: 49.97 TL

INSTITUTIONS MAY INCREASE FEES

Institutions may set a meal fee higher than these rates based on criteria such as the personnel's position, the nature of the service, and the provision of meal services under better conditions.

The communiqué will enter into force on January 15, 2025.
