In the scope of the investigation conducted into the imprisoned former mayor of Manavgat, Şükrü Sözen, 21 people, including municipal employees, tourism professionals, business people, and contractors, have been detained.
''WHAT HAD HAPPENED''
Former Mayor Şükrü Sözen had been detained as part of a 'bribery' and 'corruption' investigation conducted by the Manavgat Chief Public Prosecutor's Office into the Manavgat Municipality.
Within the scope of the investigation, Zafer Keçer, who served as the municipality's zoning director during Şükrü Sözen's term as mayor, and several business people had been arrested.
Former Manavgat Mayor Şükrü Sözen resigned from the CHP on July 16, following the suspension of his party membership during a Central Executive Board (MYK) meeting.
