211 thousand vehicles registered in August: 3 thousand vehicles removed from traffic

According to data from the Turkish Statistical Institute (TÜİK), the number of motor land vehicles registered in August decreased by 10.2% compared to the same month last year, falling to 211,389. In the same period, the number of vehicles removed from traffic increased by 14.5% to 3,118. As of the end of August, the total number of vehicles in traffic rose to 30.5 million.

In August, motorcycles accounted for 54.7% of the vehicles registered, while automobiles made up 31.3%. While an increase of 27.5% was observed in buses and 20% in special-purpose vehicles, a decrease of 39.2% was recorded in automobiles, 24.6% in light commercial vehicles, 18.9% in tractors, and 10.9% in minibuses.

ANNUAL CHANGES

In the annual changes of vehicles registered in August, there was an increase of 55.6% in special-purpose vehicles, 32.4% in buses, and 28.7% in minibuses. On the other hand, a decrease of 26.2% was seen in both automobiles and light commercial vehicles, 13.1% in tractors, and 3.5% in trucks.

INCREASE IN VEHICLE TRANSFERS

Automobiles accounted for 65.6% of the vehicles transferred, with a total of 935,945 vehicles changing hands. Among the 66,210 automobiles registered during this period, Renault, Fiat, and Volkswagen stand out as the leading brands.

JANUARY - AUGUST PERIOD

In the January-August period, the number of vehicles registered increased by 14.7% to 1 million 749 thousand 5. During this process, the number of vehicles removed from traffic decreased by 2% to 19,624. Furthermore, 64.1% of the automobiles registered during this period were gasoline-powered, 13.9% hybrid, 12.6% diesel, 8.3% electric, and 1.1% LPG-powered.

As of August, the number of vehicles registered in traffic in Turkey reached 30 million 469 thousand 319. The distribution of different types, such as 52.2% automobiles, 19.3% motorcycles, 15.2% light commercial vehicles, and 7.4% tractors, demonstrates the diversity in the sector.
