23 people referred to courthouse in operation targeting IMM

Within the scope of an investigation conducted by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office into Ağaç ve Peyzaj A.Ş., a subsidiary of the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM), 23 people who were detained have been referred to the courthouse following the completion of police procedures.

A new investigation had been launched by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office targeting the IMM. In the research conducted regarding actions allegedly carried out within the scope of the activities of a criminal organization claimed to have been established under the leadership of Ekrem İmamoğlu, it was determined that tender rigging was committed by operating a fraudulent tender system through the IMM subsidiary Ağaç ve Peyzaj A.Ş.

In the operation carried out by the Financial Crimes Investigation Bureau under the coordination of the Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, 29 people were detained, and an arrest warrant was issued for 1 person who was determined to be abroad. 7 of those detained had been released.

The other 23 people were taken to Bayrampaşa State Hospital following their procedures at the police station. After undergoing health checks, those detained were referred to the Istanbul Courthouse in Çağlayan.
