24 people captured! Sarallar gang dismantled

Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya announced that the 'Sarallar' organized crime group, led by Özgür Saral, was dismantled as part of the 'Kafes' (Cage) operations conducted in Istanbul. 24 suspects, including the leader of the organization, were captured during the operations.

Yerlikaya stated the following:

"It was determined that they threatened and extorted homeowners and tenants in residential complexes in Istanbul's Esenyurt district with weapons, assaulted residents and private security guards who complained about them to force them to withdraw their complaints, carried out extortion acts against foreign nationals, rented out apartments to other individuals by preparing forged documents without the consent or knowledge of the property owners, committed burglary within the residential complexes, attempted intentional homicide and intentionally endangered public safety by carrying out armed attacks on entertainment venues, conducted prostitution activities by threatening residents, and committed attempted armed assault in Sarıyer and Beyoğlu.

24 of these individuals, who formed an organization for the purpose of committing crimes and were involved in acts of intimidation, pressure, and violence across Istanbul that posed a threat to public safety and peace by committing the identified crimes, were captured and taken into custody."
