25 illegal migrants caught in truck from Russia: Hidden among rubber
A Russia-origin truck that had traveled 800 kilometers after entering Turkey was stopped by police teams in Amasya. 25 illegal migrants were found inside the truck.

Police raided a rubber-laden truck that had traveled 800 kilometers after entering Turkey from Russia. Searching the truck, which was loaded with 22 tons of raw rubber and stopped in Amasya, police caught 24 illegal migrants of Afghan nationality. While the truck driver and the illegal migrants were taken into custody, the police launched an investigation into the incident.
According to the information obtained, the truck with license plate 06 JVE 01, loaded with 22 tons of raw rubber and heading toward Kocaeli after entering Turkey from Russia through a customs gate, was stopped at the Taşova Junction checkpoint in central Amasya. The truck was taken to the Amasya Police Department, where a search was conducted by teams from the Anti-Migrant Smuggling and Border Gates Branch. 24 migrants of Afghan nationality were found in the trailer of the truck.
Police teams, who have launched a comprehensive investigation into where the migrants were picked up, took the truck driver, E.T., into custody. Following judicial and administrative procedures, the illegal migrants will be handed over to the Irregular Migrant Pre-Reception and Referral Center (GÖKSEM).
