265,000 TL fine for unlicensed and drunk driver

A total administrative fine of 265,000 TL was imposed following an accident in the Ergenekon neighborhood of Karabük in the morning hours, involving a driver whose license had been permanently revoked.

In the incident that occurred in the center of Karabük, an individual identified as M.Ö. got behind the wheel of a car with license plate 37 ACK 487, which he had borrowed from a relative. M.Ö. allegedly struck three parked vehicles while driving under the influence of alcohol. Due to the impact, the vehicle went out of control and overturned into a water canal.

Following reports from citizens in the vicinity, police and medical teams were dispatched to the scene. While there were no fatalities or injuries in the accident, checks revealed that M.Ö. had a blood alcohol level of 2.18 promille. Furthermore, it was stated that the driver's license had previously been permanently revoked.

Following the incident, a total fine of 225,000 TL was imposed on M.Ö., while the owner of the car was also fined 40,000 TL for allowing an unlicensed person to drive the vehicle. M.Ö., who was taken into custody by police teams, was taken to the police station for processing. The investigation into the accident and the penal procedures is ongoing.
