29 people detained in operation against Uşak Municipality brought to courthouse

29 people, including CHP Uşak Provincial Chair Celalettin Çoban and Uşakspor Club President Özhan Özgöbek, who were detained in the second wave of an investigation into allegations of bribery and corruption at Uşak Municipality, have been referred to the courthouse.

The Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office launched an investigation on March 27 regarding allegations of bribery and corruption at Uşak Municipality; in the first wave of the operation, 13 suspects, including Mayor Özkan Yalım, were detained, and 9 of them were arrested.

A second wave of the operation was launched on Monday, April 20, as part of the investigation.

The 29 people detained within the scope of the investigation, including CHP Uşak Provincial Chair Celalettin Çoban and Uşakspor Club President Özhan Özgöbek, gave their statements at the Istanbul Financial Crimes Investigation Branch.

The 29 individuals, whose statement procedures were completed, were sent early in the morning to the Istanbul Courthouse, where the investigation is being conducted.
