3 candidates determined for Constitutional Court membership

The 3 candidates to be submitted to the Presidency for Constitutional Court (AYM) membership were determined by an election held at the Supreme Court of Appeals Grand General Assembly.

The 3 candidates to be submitted to the Presidency for Constitutional Court (AYM) membership were determined by an election held at the Supreme Court of Appeals Grand General Assembly.

As a result of the vote, which saw the participation of 317 members, Supreme Court of Appeals 3rd Criminal Chamber Member Mustafa Karayıldız received 58 votes, 3rd Criminal Chamber Member Oğuz Dik received 45 votes, and 2nd Civil Chamber Member Şaban Kazdal received 44 votes, making them the candidates with the highest number of votes. There was 1 blank vote in the election, and 11 votes were deemed invalid.

One of the 3 candidates who received the most votes in the election, which included 11 candidates, will be selected for AYM membership by AKP Chairman and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.

On the other hand, Oğuz Dik had served as the presiding judge in the General Staff main case opened in Ankara regarding the July 15 coup attempt.
