The mother Yüksel, brother Enes, and uncle Salim Güran, who are in custody, as well as their neighbor Nevzat Bahtiyar, are being tried for the murder of Narin Güran—who went missing on August 21 in the Tavşantepe neighborhood of the central Bağlar district and whose lifeless body was found in the Eğertutmaz Stream on September 8—with a request for aggravated life imprisonment for the crime of "intentional killing of a child in participation."

SENT TO THE NATIONAL CRIMINAL BUREAU

Footage added to the case file regarding a family meeting held one day before September 8, when Narin Güran's lifeless body was found, was examined by the 8th High Criminal Court, where the defendants are being tried. The court sent the footage, which contains conversations in both Turkish and Kurdish, to the National Criminal Bureau to be deciphered by expert witnesses. The court's decision document included the following statements:

"In the evaluation made regarding the video footage obtained in the file numbered 2024/396 of our court, it was reported that Kurdish was spoken in the video, the audio was very low, and that during meetings with Kurdish experts in Diyarbakır, it was stated that separate audio equipment would be required to translate it into Turkish, and that it was not possible to translate it into Turkish in its current state due to the low audio level. Upon this, the National Criminal Bureau, which is an expert in its field, was consulted. Since it was stated that the conversations could be translated into Turkish using audio equipment, and because the hearing is approaching, the video footage was sent to the National Criminal Bureau."

SECOND HEARING TO BE HELD ON DECEMBER 26

On the other hand, 3 people, including 1 in custody, will be heard as witnesses at the second hearing of the Narin Güran murder case on December 26. The Diyarbakır 8th High Criminal Court took an additional decision for the second hearing of the case on December 26. Evaluating the requests of the defense attorneys between the sessions, the court decided that 3 people, 1 of whom is in custody, will be heard as witnesses at the hearing.

WILL BE BROUGHT TO COURT BY FORCE

The court decided that uncle Erhan Güran and shepherd Ahmet A. (33) should be brought to the hearing by force, and that the 15-year-old suspect R.A., who is in custody and is an employee of uncle Salim Güran, should be summoned from prison.

Uncle Salim Güran's employee, the detained suspect R.A., had said "I do not want to testify" after being reminded at the first hearing that he had the "right not to testify," and was removed from the courtroom.
