Minister of Interior Ali Yerlikaya announced that individuals who exploited the grief on social media following the fire in Bolu Kartalkaya, which resulted in the loss of 78 lives, have been apprehended. Minister Yerlikaya stated that the personal information of the citizens who lost their lives was shared unlawfully on social media platforms and that the emotional state of the grieving families was being exploited.

Minister Yerlikaya announced that as a result of the investigations, 21-year-old B.M.D. in Aksaray, 20-year-old F.A. in Nevşehir, and 19-year-old D.D. in Bitlis were detained by security forces. Furthermore, stating that efforts to apprehend other individuals are ongoing, Yerlikaya expressed the following:

The heartless individuals who disrespected the cherished memories of our citizens who passed away in Kartalkaya and uttered ugly and immoral words to their relatives have been apprehended. The fire that occurred in Kartalkaya and the loss of 78 of our citizens have burned our hearts as a nation.

However, it has been determined that on a social media platform, personal data belonging to our citizens who lost their lives in the Kartalkaya fire and their relatives were shared unlawfully; furthermore, it was determined that the relatives of our deceased citizens were called and their painful situation was exploited.

As a result of the investigations, these individuals, who are devoid of humanity and conscience, namely 21-year-old B.M.D. residing in Aksaray; 20-year-old F.A. residing in Nevşehir; and 19-year-old D.D. residing in Bitlis, have been detained by our security forces.

Efforts to apprehend other identified individuals are continuing.

I would like to thank our Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office and our police and gendarmerie who apprehended these individuals one by one.

No one can mock the grief of our nation. Those who attempt to do so will be judged not only in the conscience of our people but also before the law.
