The Ministry of Foreign Affairs reported that the three Turkish MPs who were on the Freedom Flotilla seized by Israel have been released following their detention.
Ministry sources stated that after being brought ashore at Ashdod Port, the MPs were taken to Ben Gurion Airport in Tel Aviv on the night of October 8.
In the statement made by the Ministry, it was expressed that the MPs' return to Turkey via a third country is planned for today. Officials noted that contact with the MPs has been maintained throughout the process and that the necessary diplomatic initiatives have been undertaken.
INTERVENTION IN THE FREEDOM FLOTILLA
Israeli forces intervened in international waters against the Freedom Flotilla, which was carrying humanitarian aid to Gaza, and many people on the boats were detained. Following the incident, the Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs reacted to Israel and demanded the immediate release of the citizens.
