4.5 billion TL counterfeit currency operation in Istanbul
In an operation conducted in Istanbul, counterfeit currency worth 4.5 billion TL was seized. Five foreign nationals were taken into custody. A printing press used for producing counterfeit money was uncovered, and an investigation has been launched for "establishing an organization for the purpose of committing crimes" and "counterfeiting money."

The button was pressed for counterfeiters in Istanbul! During the operation, 4.5 billion TL worth of counterfeit currency was seized, and 5 foreign nationals were apprehended. The details of the operation that took place yesterday have emerged.
INVESTIGATION LAUNCHED FOR TWO CRIMES
Minister of Interior Ali Yerlikaya shared the details regarding the operation as follows:
"Under the coordination of the Büyükçekmece Chief Public Prosecutor's Office and the Gendarmerie General Command's Anti-Smuggling and Organized Crime (KOM) Department; as a result of the work carried out by the Istanbul Provincial Gendarmerie Command's KOM Branch Directorate; in the operations organized against individuals identified as printing counterfeit money and preparing to put it into circulation, the suspects caught;
Have had investigations launched against them by our Prosecutor's Offices for the crimes of Establishing an Organization for the Purpose of Committing Crimes and Counterfeiting Money.
As a result of the operation; a large amount of counterfeit currency and materials used in the production of counterfeit money were seized.
Additionally, 1 printing press used in the production of counterfeit money was uncovered.
