4 members of the same family lost their lives: Note and photo found in the rubble of the collapsed building in Gebze are heartbreaking

Only 18-year-old Dilara Bilir survived from the 5-member Bilir family who were trapped in the rubble of a 7-story building that collapsed in Gebze, Kocaeli. A note reading "Happy birthday to our middle child" and a photograph of 14-year-old Nisa found in the wreckage have left many heartbroken.

In the building collapse that occurred in the Gebze district of Kocaeli, the lifeless bodies of the mother, father, and two children of the Bilir family were recovered. The family's 18-year-old eldest daughter, Dilara Bilir, was rescued.

The incident took place yesterday morning around 07:00 on Issıkgöl Street in the Mevlana neighborhood. The 7-story building, which had a pharmacy on the ground floor, suddenly collapsed for reasons yet to be determined. The Bilir family, who were living in the building as tenants, remained trapped under the rubble. AFAD, fire department, and medical teams were dispatched to the scene shortly after the incident.

As a result of the intensive efforts of the teams, the lifeless bodies of 12-year-old Muhammed Emir Bilir and 14-year-old Nisa Bilir were recovered during the day. The family's eldest child, 18-year-old Dilara Bilir, was pulled from the rubble alive.

DİLARA'S CONDITION IS STABLE

It was learned that Dilara Bilir, who was taken under treatment at Gebze Fatih State Hospital, is in good health. It was stated that the young woman is able to speak with doctors, respond to questions, and her general condition is stable.

BODIES OF MOTHER AND FATHER RECOVERED FROM THE RUBBLE

Search and rescue teams reached the lifeless bodies of father Levent Bilir (44) and mother Emine Bilir (37) in the 19th hour of the operations. The couple's bodies were taken to the hospital morgue for autopsy procedures.

HEARTBREAKING NOTE AND PHOTO

Among the personal belongings recovered from under the rubble were photographs and notes belonging to the family. A note found hanging on a wall read, "Happy birthday to our middle child."

It was learned that the note was written for 14-year-old Nisa. The fact that a photograph of Nisa was found next to it broke the hearts of those who saw it.
