4 people, including Mehmet Akif Ersoy, arrested: 'Sexual intercourse' detail in referral document

The document stated, "After using narcotic substances, more than two people engaged in sexual intercourse together, and furthermore, thesuspect, by involving women in sexualrelations with people in his circle in this manner, providedhimself and his associates with sectoral and financialbenefits in the subsequent process..."

The 8 suspects, who were taken intocustodyby the Istanbul Provincial Gendarmerie Command teams and included Mehmet Akif Ersoy,The suspect wasreferred for healthchecks to the ForensicMedicine Institute.

8 suspects werereferred to the courthouse to provide statements to the prosecutor's office. The aggressive behavior of the suspects and their lawyers toward members of the press drew attention.

One of the suspects, Ufuk Tetik, attempted to film those trying to record himslapped the camera of the press members who were working.

4 PEOPLE, INCLUDING MEHMET AKİF ERSOY, HAVE BEEN ARRESTED

Arrest warrants were issued for Mehmet Akif Ersoy, Mustafa Manaz, Ufuk Tetik, and Ebru Gülan. Elif Kılınç, Gizem Aybaktı, Dilara Yıldız, and Buse Öztay were released with international travel bans.out ofthe country, they were referred with a request for judicial control.

The Chief Public Prosecutor's Office'sreferral document sent to theDuty Magistrate Judgerevealedthe referral document hasemerged. Accordingto this, the referraldocument contained the following statements:

“Regarding the judicial investigationbeing conducted by ourChief Public Prosecutor's Office, to; the suspects, whose identities are listed below, have been sent in custody, and within the scope of the investigation conducted regarding the suspects, the file containsWhen the secret witnessstatements, along with the suspectdefenses obtained in line with the statements of those with knowledgeare evaluated together; the people, positions, and actions mentionedin the secret witness statementsand the connections with the peoplementioned in the suspects' testimoniesare consistent with the details mentioned in the secret witness statementsthat theindividuals met at the specified locations, and in this regard, thesuspects' implied admissionsand theirstatements aimed at evadingthe crimewhen takeninto account, the sthe suspects providedspace and facilities in their own homes for the use of narcotic substances, that the suspects provided narcotic substances to the women who came to the house,and that after using the narcotic substances, more than two people engaged in sexual intercourse together, and furthermore, that the suspect, by involving women in sexual relations with peoplein their circle in this manner, sought to gainsectoral and financial benefits for themselves and their circle in theensuing process; that the ssuspect Mehmet Akif ERSOY, acting in unity ofthought andaction, Mustafa MANAZ, Ufuk TETİK and Ebru GÜLAN's, it is understood that they committed thecrimesin question in complicity; Sthat there is strong suspicionthat the suspectscommitted thecrime they areaccused of,and the existenceof evidencefacts indicatingthe presence of the crime and the reason for arrest, and the fact that evidence has not yet been collected within the scope of the filethe release of the suspectsalong with thepossibility of influencing the evidence in questionbeing evaluated; that thesuspects are charged withthe crimethe nature of the crime,the current state of evidence, thepenalty prescribed by law for theoffense, and taking into account theupper limit, it is requested on behalf of the public that they be ARRESTED in accordance with Article 100 et seq. of the Criminal Procedure Code (CMK) No. 5271.”
