4 suspects arrested in connection with harassment and looting incident at student dormitory in Cevizlibağ

An investigation was launched by the Bakırköy Chief Public Prosecutor's Office following a complaint by the Istanbul Provincial Directorate of Youth and Sports of the Ministry of Youth and Sports regarding the looting of students' belongings and the writing of harassing messages on lockers at the Cevizlibağ Atatürk KYK Student Dormitory.
In the investigation launched into the incident, 6 suspects, including 2 Iranian nationals, were apprehended in operations conducted by the Istanbul Police Department Security Branch teams in Istanbul and Muğla.
The police interrogation of the suspects, who damaged the students' belongings, was completed, and the 6 suspects were brought to the Bakırköy Courthouse, where the investigation is being conducted, after undergoing health checks.
Within the scope of the ongoing investigation, 4 of the 6 suspects who gave their statements to the prosecutor were referred to the Duty Criminal Judgeship of Peace with a request for 'arrest' following their procedures, while 2 suspects were released after their statements to the prosecutor due to 'insufficient evidence'.
The 4 suspects, identified as Iranian nationals M.R. and S.A., as well as O.D. and H.Ü., whose procedures were completed at the Duty Criminal Judgeship of Peace, were arrested and sent to prison on charges of 'damaging public property' and 'theft of property kept within a building'.
