43 illegal transformers processed in Şanlıurfa, two transformers targeted in armed attacks

Inspections conducted in Şanlıurfa revealed that illegal energy consumption equivalent to the electricity needs of approximately 10 thousand residences was being targeted. Dicle Elektrik officials filed a criminal complaint with the prosecutor's office after identifying the 43 illegal transformers.
On the same day, two transformers providing electricity to residents in the Sıngören neighborhood of Akçakale district were shot and disabled by unidentified individuals. Investigations indicated that each of the transformers in question had a capacity of 100 kVA and served a total of 30 subscribers. Teams arriving at the scene after the incident began efforts to provide temporary energy to resolve the disruption.
According to initial assessments, the attack is believed to have stemmed from land disputes in the village. It was reported that judicial authorities have been informed about the matter.
Dicle Elektrik General Manager Yaşar Arvas, in his statement regarding the issue, gave a message of determination in the fight against illegal electricity and included the following words:
“Illegal consumption harms not only our company but the entire society. Thanks to artificial intelligence and drone-supported inspections, we can intervene in these situations quickly. On the other hand, attacks on transformers installed to serve citizens are also unacceptable. This is an interference not only with public property but also with our citizens' right to energy consumption. We have initiated the necessary legal proceedings and will continue our fight in both areas.”
