474 detained in attacks following abuse incident in Kayseri
Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya announced that 474 people have been detained in connection with the incidents that began in Kayseri after a Syrian child was abused by a Syrian man.

Kayseri’s Danişmentgazi neighborhood saw many businesses and vehicles damaged, and attacks carried out on some homes, during the incidents that began on Sunday after a Syrian child was abused by a Syrian man.
The attacks against Syrian refugees, which began in Kayseri on Sunday evening, spread to many cities a day later.
Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya announced that 474 people have been detained in connection with the events. Yerlikaya also stated that 285 of those detained have criminal records for various offenses.
Yerlikaya used the following expressions on his social media account:
"Following the ugly incident that occurred in Kayseri, provocative actions against Syrians were carried out last night in some cities across our country.
"474 INDIVIDUALS HAVE BEEN DETAINED"
Following the provocative actions carried out by resorting to illegal means, 474 individuals have been detained. It has been determined that 285 of the detained individuals have criminal records for various offenses (migrant smuggling, assault, drugs, looting, theft, property damage, sexual harassment, fraud, counterfeiting, threats, insults, deprivation of liberty, etc.).
My Dear Citizens; Let us not fall for provocations. Let us act with moderation. Let us not commit crimes by resorting to illegal means, harming people, the environment, and property. Our state is strong. Those who plot these conspiracies against our state and our nation will receive the response they deserve."
