487 thousand violations in traffic inspections: Minister Yerlikaya announces the 1-week balance sheet

Minister of Interior Ali Yerlikaya has announced the one-week balance sheet regarding traffic inspections. Between January 30 and February 6, 2025, police and gendarmerie teams processed 487 thousand 127 vehicles/drivers during their inspections. Among the traffic violations, speeding, lack of periodic inspection, and failure to use seat belts stood out.

Minister Yerlikaya included the following statements in his post:

Between January 30 and February 6, 2025, our Police and Gendarmerie Traffic Teams inspected 3 million 145 thousand 753 vehicles. 48 drivers were processed for installing and using devices with light or sound warning signals (beacons) on vehicles not permitted by legislation. Along with other procedures, including 138 thousand 335 for speeding, 25 thousand 496 for vehicles without periodic inspection, 25 thousand 701 for not using seat belts, 14 thousand 191 for driving without a license, and 7 thousand 986 for lacking mandatory financial liability insurance; a total of 487 thousand 127 vehicles/drivers were processed.
