50 million lira in emergency aid following the flood disaster in Havza

Efforts are ongoing in the region following the flood disaster in the Havza district of Samsun. It has been announced that 50 million lira in emergency aid has been transferred to meet the urgent needs of citizens affected by the disaster and to address the damage caused.

In a written statement issued by the Samsun Governor's Office, it was noted that the Hacı Osman Creek overflowed, particularly in the Havza district, due to heavy rainfall across the province. It was stated that flooding occurred in the İcadiye, 25 Mayıs, Bahçelievler, and Medrese neighborhoods due to the overflow.

137 REPORTS RECEIVED

The statement reported that a total of 137 notifications regarding the flooding were recorded in the Havza district.

It was noted that the Governor's Office, the Metropolitan Municipality, and public institutions and organizations are participating in the efforts in the region, and that damage assessment and cleanup activities are being carried out with 1,063 personnel, 85 construction machines, 41 trucks and pickups, 214 vehicles, 90 water pumps, 6 boats, and 14 submersible pumps.

It was recorded that efforts are being made to eliminate the effects of the disaster through coordinated work.

In the Governor's Office statement, it was emphasized that work is continuing intensively, and the following statements were included:

"Upon the instructions of our Minister of Interior, Mr. Mustafa Çiftçi, 50 million lira in emergency aid has been transferred to the disposal of our Governor's Office by our AFAD Presidency in the first instance to meet the urgent needs of our fellow citizens affected by the flooding in our Havza district and to address the damage caused. We once again convey our best wishes to our citizens affected by the floods."
