FIRST STATEMENT FROM ŞENER ÜŞÜMEZSOY

This is not an earthquake under Sındırgı, but an earthquake that occurred in the mountains to its south! A 100-kilometer surface is rupturing here. A new rupture has formed in a section extending towards the east there.

This earthquake is not on the fault plane in Simav; in Simav, there were 5.4 magnitude earthquakes in what we call the hanging wall block.

This is an earthquake that occurred not under Sındırgı, but towards the mountains going south of Sındırgı, so the people of Sındırgı should not expect a larger earthquake.

We can say that the pieces next to the major earthquake that occurred have broken for Sındırgı...

It is a different earthquake from the major one that occurred in Sındırgı in recent months, but we can say it is an earthquake triggered by that one.

To answer the question of whether it affects the Marmara Earthquake, the earthquakes are heading towards Çekmece Lake... When stress is released after the fault that broke on April 23, it triggers these. The earthquakes occurring in the Black Sea and towards the north are under the influence of the rupture of the fault in Silivri, but these are not aftershocks...

The earthquakes here will not affect the Marmara Earthquake.
