6 arrested in bank vehicle robbery in İzmir

In an armed robbery in Karabağlar, approximately 30 million liras were stolen from a bank service vehicle and an ATM; weapons and the majority of the money were recovered in the homes and vehicles of the 6 suspects apprehended in connection with the incident.

A robbery reminiscent of a movie scene took place in the Karabağlar district of İzmir. In the Yenitepe neighborhood, the path of a vehicle carrying personnel who were loading money into ATMs belonging to two different banks was blocked in the evening hours.

Six armed individuals threatened the bank's two employees with handguns and neutralized them. The robbers tied the employees with plastic zip ties, took approximately 30 million liras from both the vehicle and the ATMs, and fled the scene rapidly by car.

Upon receiving the report of the incident, police teams launched a large-scale investigation. As a result of the examinations, the identities of the suspects were determined as C.M. (24), M.M. (26), F.A. (28), M.O.Ç. (20), A.F.G. (27), and R.O. (27). The teams apprehended the suspects in a short time and took them into custody.

During searches conducted at the suspects' addresses and in their vehicles, 5 handguns, 6 magazines, numerous cartridges, and a rifle were seized. Additionally, a large portion of the stolen high amount of money was also recovered.

While the detained suspects were taken to the District Police Department for questioning, it was reported that the investigation into the robbery is continuing meticulously.
