6 students detained at METU arrested

It was alleged that a group attempted a provocation during the METU Spring Festival and tried to target METU students by claiming that the Turkish flag was being targeted by the same group. Six of the students detained following the events were arrested. Judicial control measures were imposed on 7 individuals.

Six of the students detained during the investigation into the events that occurred at the İlkay Akkaya concert, held as part of the Spring Festivals at Middle East Technical University (METU), have been arrested.

In the investigation conducted by the Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, the students were charged with 'Insulting the Sovereignty Symbols of the State,' 'Qualified Intentional Injury,' and 'Threat and Insult.' 

While detention warrants were issued for 21 people, 19 individuals were taken into custody.

Six students were arrested, while judicial control measures were imposed on 7 students as part of the investigation.

Arrest warrants were also issued for 2 students.
