The 9-day Ramadan Feast holiday began as of April 6, 2024.
Minister of Interior Ali Yerlikaya reported that 651 traffic accidents occurred on the first day of the holiday, 411 thousand 588 vehicles were inspected, and speed and radar procedures were applied to 19 thousand 654 vehicles, while other procedures were applied to 37 thousand 130 vehicles.
Yerlikaya announced that 9 citizens lost their lives and 1 thousand 47 citizens were injured in the accidents that occurred on the first day of the holiday.
