7.4 magnitude earthquake in Taiwan! Tsunami warning issued

A 7.4 magnitude earthquake has struck the city of Hualien on Taiwan's east coast. A tsunami warning has also been issued for the region.

The United States Geological Survey (USGS) announced that the epicenter of the 7.4 magnitude earthquake was 18 kilometers south of the city of Hualien on Taiwan's east coast.

It was reported that some buildings in the region collapsed due to the tremor, which occurred at a depth of 34.8 kilometers.

The Central Weather Administration (CWA) of Taiwan issued a tsunami warning for the northern regions of the island following the earthquake.

The Japan Meteorological Agency (JMA) also issued a tsunami warning for the southwestern islands of Okinawa and Miyakojima, stating that waves could reach a height of 3 meters.
