WHAT HAPPENED?
Determining that MOSSAD was tracking its targets in Turkey through private detectives, MİT had identified that the Israeli intelligence service was conducting activities such as collecting biographical information, reconnaissance, investigation, photo-video documentation, live tracking, and placing tracking devices on its targets through private detectives with whom it was in contact.
Within the framework of the investigation conducted by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, it was determined that 9 suspects had sold the information they obtained to MOSSAD through private detectives.
In the simultaneous operation carried out by the Intelligence Branch and the Counter-Terrorism Branch of the Istanbul Police Department in Istanbul and İzmir, 7 of the 9 suspects were apprehended, while it was learned that 2 suspects had been previously arrested within the scope of the same investigation.
MİT had conducted an operation against MOSSAD's private detectives and tactical elements in December 2022, and proceedings were initiated against 68 people who were caught.
