7 people arrested in operation targeting Üsküdar Municipality

Seven people detained in an operation targeting Üsküdar Municipality, launched as part of an investigation by the Istanbul Anatolian Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, have been arrested.

The 7 people detained during the second wave of the operation conducted on Friday, May 15, against the CHP-run Üsküdar Municipality were referred to the courthouse today.

Arrest warrants were issued for all of those detained.

According to journalist Ceylan Sever, the individuals for whom arrest warrants were issued as part of the investigation are as follows:

Uğur Çağatay Cayak (Üsküdar Municipality staff)

Adem Bağcı (Staff at Kent A.Ş, a subsidiary of Üsküdar Municipality)

Hülya Koçak Tanrısever (Staff at Kent A.Ş, a subsidiary of Üsküdar Municipality)

Burak Mesutoğlu (Staff at Kent A.Ş, a subsidiary of Üsküdar Municipality)

Abdurrahmen Ethem Dilek (Staff at Kent A.Ş, a subsidiary of Üsküdar Municipality)

Samet Bayrak (Staff at Kent A.Ş, a subsidiary of Üsküdar Municipality)

Serdar Ayhan (Staff at Kent A.Ş, a subsidiary of Üsküdar Municipality)

WHAT HAPPENED?

On April 7, simultaneous operations were carried out at 30 addresses in Istanbul and Yalova as part of an investigation into Üsküdar Municipality, and 22 suspects, including Üsküdar Deputy Mayor Filiz Deveci and Kent AŞ General Manager Nazım Akkoyunlu, were detained.

In the first wave of the operation, a total of 9 people, including Deveci and Akkoyunlu, were arrested. With the second wave of the operation, the number of people arrested as part of the investigation has risen to 16.
